If this is your first experience with therapeutic massage you may have questions. This should give you an idea what a session is like.
Before your massage:
It is best to receive massage on an empty stomach or have eaten a very light meal. When you come in I'll have you fill out a health history form to help me know which techniques are most appropriate for you. Then we'll talk about your needs and goals for the session and I'll leave you in private to get undressed and get on the table. Massage is best received fully undressed but you may leave on anything that makes you more comfortable. You will be covered with a sheet during the massage except for the area of the body I'm working with.
During your massage:
I'll re-enter the room when you're ready and make sure you're comfortable. At any time during your massage if you feel pain or don't like something please let me know. A typical full body massage includes your back, legs, feet, arms, hands, abdomen, head, neck and face. You may decide to leave any part out if you would like more focus on another area, remembering it's best to incorporate the full body for optimum wellness.
Talking during the session is kept to a minimum, some techniques take a lot of concentration. We will always have time to talk before and after the massage.
After your massage:
I'll greet you with a cup of water, we'll talk about how you feel and I'll share what I found as I worked. We can go over any plans I have for you in future sessions.
Drinking lots of water will help your body rid itself of toxins released during your massage.
Bringing balance to your life, one massage at a time.
